- There is a fort in our district and it always goes by the name of "Dominick's Fort," because it is in the land of a man named Dominick Mc.Gettrick who lived there in my great grandmother's time. It is situated in the townland of Killeens, is circular in shape and is surrounded by a fence of bushes and trees.The old people believed that the fairies or the "good people" as they called them inhabited these forts and had a palace under ground in which they had great feasting and dancing every night.They considered it very unlucky to cut any of the trees in the fort and would not touch them on any accound afraid of the vengeance of the fairies for cutting their shelter. There is another smaller fort in Maree's land in Killeens. This also is round in shape and has a fence of furze round it. There is a sad(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
