  1. The Mermaid
The Mermaid is a very handsome girl. They say she has human faculties and understanding. It is handed to us that one of the O Dowd's Chieftains was riding a furious horse and that he saw a beautiful girl sitting on a rock combing her hair, and he managed to get between her and the sea, and caught her and made her his first wife and a secret she confined to him which was a silver comb, he at the end of seven year told it to the prince his father and off she went into the sea again and left him broken hearted.
