- Long ago there was a man and he was very poor. One day he was fixing a road. He used to put the stones on it with his hands because he had no weapon. The road waas about half a mile. This day he came to the middle of it. There was a big hole and he put down his foot. When he took it up he had a golden shoe and it filled up with money and from that out he was rich.
- 2. Long ago a poor man coming from a fair went in to a house and asked for lodgings. He got it but when he was going to bed his dog went down to the room after him and would not let him into the bed. He put in sticks and the bed snapped. The people of the house ran down to the room thinking they had the man trapped. Instead of that he was standing on the floor and he would go for the guards.The all ran away to a foreign, country. When the guards came they looked and found out that it was a bed trap the had and that(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
