Ar an leathanach seo

  1. In olden times people ate three times a day, the breakfast, the dinner and the supper. The breakfast was of oat-meal bread and milk, the dinner was porridge and butter-milk and the supper was calley.
    The porridge was made in the following way, a pot half full of water was put on the fire and when it was boiling two plates of meal are put on it. Salt was then put on it. It was stirred until it boiled. This done a lid was put on it and it was left there until it was cooked. Then it was lifted up and a handful of flour put on it to make it taste nicely. Calley was made in the following way, a bucket of potatoes were got and the skin peeled off them. Then they were washed and put into a pot of water and put on the fire to boil. When they were boiled they were lifted off the fire and onions
