    There lived a man long ago who was very poor.

    three good advices. "Begor sir, the money is badly needed at home" he said, "but the advice may come in handy too". The first advice was, not to take a short-cut on his way home, the second was, not to sleep in any house where a young woman was married to an old man, and the third was, not to do anything at night he would be sorry for in the morning. Then the farmer ordered his wife to make him a loaf of bread and warned him not to touch it until he arrived home, and to give it to his children. He took his leave of them, and as lonely as he was leaving home, he was as lonely leaving his master and kind mistress. It took him some days to come home as the journey was long and he had to walk the whole way. When it was getting late one day and his feet were sore from walking the road, he thought he would take a short-cut through the fields, and he had gone some distance when he thought of the three advices his master had given him. But he said he had gone too far too far to turn back and he would take a chance. It was soon dark and he came to a house and asked for lodgings and got them. They gave him a good supper and said he looked tired. He was shown to his
