    It was on Good Friday morning,
    At the rising of the sun,
    When neighbours going to market
    Come flocking to the shore.
    But fourteen of their number
    Returned to them no more,
    Between Ross Beg and Corry Point
    We hoisted up our sail.
    The wind blew from the north-west
    We had a pleasant gale.
    Row on my hearty comrades
    The wind is getting strong
    We rowed to the new quay
    There we would cast our anchor until day.
    Such a deadly slaughter in the county never was known
