- On St. Stephen's Day the wren boys come looking for money and one of their rhymes is:-

Its money I want, and money I crave,
If you don't give me money, I'll sweep you all to your grave.Hallow Eve is another great, festival, and there are many customs held on it. The letting off the fireworks, and going round from house to house dressed-up, and singing, and receiving apples, and nuts etc. The children play snap apple, and ducking for apples in a basin of water, and many other things.On the Eve of the first of May the children get a branch of May which is the white thorn, and plant it, and dance, and sing the following rhyme:-
You must wake, and call me early,
