- There are a lot of birds in our district such as blackbirds, swallows, wrens, sparrows, robins, thrushes, pigeons, crows, magpies, seagulls, cranes, cuckoos, corncrakes, and peewits.
The blackbird is a very nice bird because it has nice black feathers, and a yellow bill. She builds her nest in a hedge or small bush. It is made of hay, moss, and some feathers. She lays four or five eggs, and sits on them from two to three weeks. When they are hatched, they stay for some time in the nest until they are able to fly. Some birds are here only in the summer times such as the swallows and the cuckoo. The swallows come in April, and the cuckoo comes about May.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
