houses were:- Mr David Chambers, Mr James Bovaird, Miss Connaghan, Mrs Katie Liney, Mr Eddie Wasson. Mr David Chambers went away to live in America after his wife died and then the house was tumbled. Mr James Bovaird left his house and lived in Burrows. After that he died an old man. Miss Connaghan went to live in Kilmacrenan after she left Dromore. Mrs Liney died in her own house where she was always living, and the ruins are still to be seen.
Long ago a lot of people went to America from Dromore. They went in small open boats and it took them six weeks to go. They had to take their own food with them, which was a bit of hard oaten cake. The people got free to America at the time that the war was in Ireland. It was called the free emigration.
