“Once there lived a man in Kiltullagh.”
Once there was a man in Kiltullagh. He had a bank there. There lived along with him his wife a servant girl and a child. There were iron doors and windows in the house.
One night the man was gone to Castlerea. He left the other there in charge of the house. At ten o'clock there came alot of robbers. The two women had a pot of boiling water on the fire as they were going to make a churning. The two women went up in the room and they left the child after them. Then the robbers said they would scald the if the people did not give them money. They put the child down in the pot of boiling water and scalded it to death. Still the women refused to give them any money so the robbers went out and(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
