    Páirc an muilinn. One day when Patsy Ausboro was digging he came on the foundation of the old mill in this field and he came on a quern which he took home and used as a spud-stone for a gate because of the hole in it.
    Cnoc Saxon is situated about a mile from here and is parish of Straide. A battle took place there between natives and saxons. The English suffered a great defeat and the dead were left unburied. The Irish soldiers were buried in consecrated ground at Cnoc an Teampuill. When the priests who were then in Straide Abbey heard that the Saxon soldiers lay unburied they came up to Cnoc Saxon and had a large
