  1. My grandfather Michael Kennedy Rushhill in the Parish of Balla has a limekiln on his own land it is seven feet deep and four feet wide all round.
    He used to burn twenty barrels of lime at a time.
    First of all he would put in some turf and fill it up with stones. He had to renew the fire every two hours and on that account the people of the house had to stay up for a week while the lime was
