  1. Many years ago all the people in this place used to burn lime in kilns. They made a hole in the ground about twelve feet deep. Then they built it all around with stones and left a hole in the bottom of one side for the air to get in to the lime.
    They gathered up all the lime-stones in the fields first. Then they got some turf. After that they put a layer of turf in the kiln and then
