  1. There is an old castle in this district. I do not know who built it. The Kelly's own it. I do not know how long it is built. It is not knocked at all. It is situated in the townland of Castletown and in the parish of Clooney, and in the Barony of Upper Bunratty.
    There was no siege laid to that castle, or there is no story about it. There were not any people put to death in it.
