    against the Danes. Long ago the old people used to see lights and hear music in the lisses but the people now do not see or hear them. A long time ago a girl went to the field at night fall to put out a horse. She tried to put him out but she was not able and at last she said she would go away and leave him in it. When she was passing the list a very small ugly little man came out to her and he asked her did she put out the horse. The girl said she did not. "That was your luck" said the man and went back again to the liss.

  2. Some years ago, a man was crossing from Ogonnelloe and when he was passing the field near the list he heard what he thought to be a childs cry in the list or near it. He got very frightened and almost fainted. Then he picked up
