- There are a lot of names on fields on our farm and in the district around. These got their names from people who owned them long ago or from some important event which happened there.
The first and most important one is the “Rasan” and it derives its name from the shrubbery and roots which (go) grow in the middle of it.
There is another field which is called the lochan and it is so called because of the water which collects there after a storm of rain.
There is another field known as “Dicks Hill” and the reason why it was called this is because long ago it was owned by a man named Dick Morris(continues on next page)- Collector
