The potato crop was a failure for two years and the people had not enough of oat meal to keep them in food. The people long ago would have to work before they would get their breakfast and they oftentimes got their breakfast out in the stable or the out office in which they would be engaged. Long ago the people would only taken three meals during the day. These meals were their breakfast, dinner, and supper. Tea was not used in those days as the people did not know about tea.
