    Holy Saturday.
    on Holy Saturday they bring the Easter Water from the church.
    Easter Sunday.
    On Easter Sunday they eat a great many eggs. Long ago they used boil two special eggs for the youngest in the house.
    May Day.
    On May day they bring in a furze-bush and put it up on the rafters. This is done before sunrise.
    St Martin's Day.
    On St. Martin's Day they spill blood, that is they kill fowl of some kind. No wheels are twisted on this day.
    November Night.
    On November's night they eat beans, apples and nuts. Long ago they used make an apple-cake for their supper on this night.
    The night of the 24th December in Christmas night. On that night the people of this district light Christmas-candles. The house-holders
