    a seam in it and putting his hand into the seam he drew back a flag off the rock and to his surprise what was under it but a heap of gold.
    He did not take all the gold but as much as he thought would do him. He promised God that when he got a position he would return what he had taken. In a few days he was offered and accepted a better position than the one he was deprived of. The first payment he got he replaced the gold and fulfilled the promise made to God. In a week after he revisited the shore and nothing was to be seen but the solid rock. He and his wife and family were never again in want.
