  1. Once upon a time there lived a man in the townland of Anahoes named Peter McDoo. He was a noted storyteller and a special favourite with young and old. Each night he used to go from house to house telling stories, dancing and singing.
    This particular night he was coming home off his rounds by a path which was said to be frequented by the fairies. He heard the trample of horses coming behind him and knowing that this pass was only used by people walking on foot he stopped to listen. It was the fairies mounted on horseback.
