    I
    The day before the July fair
    The Ribbon men, they did prepare
    For three miles round to wreck a tea
    And burn the town of Shercock
    II
    The Tory whistle loud a shrill
    We heard it o'er the Mourne hill
    'Fall on brave boys we'll slay and kill
    The Protestants of Shercock
    III
    The day came and they did repair
    In multitudes to Shercock fair
    Some travelled thirty miles or 'mair'
    To burn the town of Shercock
    IV
    They all appeared in great haste
    With handkerchiefs tied round their waists
    Their jackets we did soundly laste,
    That July day in Shercock
    V
    The Protestants and Orangemen
    Like brothers did assemble there
    To keep the town was their design
