sight, a 'green' stone, standing alone in a limestone district. It is an ancient stone with Ogham inscriptions and was visited by Professor Mac Alistor of the National Museum, Dublin. It is said that he failed to discover the meaning of the letters inscribed on the stone.
At any rate local tradition says that it is through the action of the giant the stone came to be where it is. Needless to say the GarrySallagh giant beat a hasty retreat and never afterwards attempted the conquest of his rival.
