Ar an leathanach seo

  1. There are three forts in the district. There is one in Fairymount one in Druimbee and one in Coolkill. They are not in view of each other. They are all circular in shape and a mound of clay on the outside and then a trench and then another mound inside and the house or castle was in the centre. Trees were planted around it. The entrance was by means of a draw-bridge. In forts throughout the country under-ground caves have been found.
    The fort in Fairymount is on the priests land. One night a pries let his gows gaze on the fort and in the morning he found one of them hanging to one of the branches and she was dead.
    The owners of the forts are supposed to sleep in them on the first of May to find what sort the weather will be.
    They were built by the old Irish chieftains.
    Many people have seen little men with long hats and red coats in them. It is said that there are wild cats and other animals in these forts.
