  1. There was a man once who left out his cows at night. Every morning when milking-time came the cows had no milk.
    He heard from his neighbour that an object like a hare came and sucked the milk from the cows.
    One morning he went out and brought a gun with him. He saw the hare come up and suck the milk from the cow. He fired a shot at the hare but only a couple of grains hit her. He watched the hare run on until she came to a house where the door was shut. She jumped up to the latch and opened it. The man followed her in and he found an old woman on the floor with her leg broken.
