- In this country long there were no churches the priests had to say Mass in rocks and in hiding places. There were soldiers in pursuit of priests and there was a reward of £5 for a priest at that time. There is a a place in this country called the priests leap as a priest leaped this when the soldiers were after him. The people had to go to Mass early in the morning as they were not sure of their lives. Sometimes they said Mass in houses but not for long as the soldiers were in their pursuit always.Derravona 13-12-'38
