  1. Once upon a time there lived a woman in the townland of Corralacka. She had one cow and she used to milk her three times every day as she was the only support the woman had from one end of the year to the other for herself and family. One morning she got up very early and churned. When she was finished there came into her kitchen a very poor looking old man and asked her for a drink. She went and after a while she returned with a drink of cold water even though she had the nice fresh buttermilk that she had just churned. The man tasted the water and handed it back to the woman again. He disappeared and she saw him no more. That night her good cow died and she never had a cow of her own afterwards.
