  1. Long ago during the Penal times when Priests had not leave to read Mass in the Chapels they used to go to the hills and mountains.
    Since then there are many places called after that time. In this district there are not many places but in other countries there are some. When there were no priests the whole people used to gather and say the rosary.
    There is a bush in the townland of Dungleve where the old people used to come to say the rosary. It is in Mr McGovern and the old people say there is many of them in the same field. There is another bush in Gurteen which they used to say the rosary at also.
