  1. Once upon a time there were three men going to be hanged, An Irishman, an Englishman, and a Scotchman. They had leave to choose any tree they wished to be hanged on. The Scotchman said he would like to be hanged on an oak tree. The Englishman said he would like to be hanged on an ash tree. Then it came to the Irishman's turn and he said he would like to be hanged on a gooseberry tree.
