  1. My home is in the townland of Thornhill.
The "Big Meadow", the "Crop Field", the "Bottom", the "Island, and the "Church Hill", are the fields on our farm.
The "Big Meadow" got its name because it is very large.
The Crop-field is so called because most of the crop is raised in it.
The "Church-hill" is up on a hill beside the ruins of an old church.
The "Island" is a fairly large field with a river running round most of it, so that it resembles an island.
