- The animals most commonly found on the farm are, the horse, cow, goat, calf, dog, pig and the cat. Some cows are called names such as, Polly, Daisie, Bluebell and Bawny. When they are driving cattle in or out of a field they shout "bail up" bail up." or "how; how." When calling a calf they say, "suck, suck, suck"
There are two doors on a cowhouse. Opposite the door there is a line of bails. In some cowhouses the cows are tied with a chain. That is called a slip chain. the cowhouses are sometimes called cow-cabins. If the cows fore and hind legs are tied(continues on next page)- Collector
