  1. A hill in Glen Imaal was set on fire in 1923. It burned for two days and a night. There was considerable damage done to rabbits and game.
    A dropped match was supposed to be the cause.
    There was a severe storm in February 1903. Numbers of trees were uprooted all over the district. Storm raged from evening until after midnight.
    Between 30 and 40 years ago there was a heavy snow-storm. Sheep were buried in the snow drifts and were dug out. Many were not found for days.
    In the year 1835 a fever raged in Glen Imaal. There was one house in Brittas and the people were so much afraid of it that they
