  1. Wednesday is supposed to be a lucky day to get married and Saturday is supposed to be an unlucky day. If it rains on St Swithen's day it will rain for forthy days. A wet Friday will bring a wet Sunday. Any sleety day in April is supposed to be a day borrowed from March. Anything or person born on Whit Sunday is called a Whitsuntide and is supposed to be unlucky. Saturday is supposed to be an unlucky day to change from one house to another.
