  1. Local Marriage Customs
    People never marry during Lent. They frequently marry before Shrove Tuesday. It is unlucky to get married during advent. Matches re not made in this district but money and other goods are given and a dowry to the person getting married by the people that know them.
    It is said if you marry in brown you will live out of town. It is custom to throw confetti on people getting married when they are coming out of the church.
    Another custom is to go on their honeymoon for two or three days. They have the wedding breakfast after getting married and later on they on their honeymoon across to another country for a holiday.
