- When the swallow flies low it is the sign of bad - weather. When the swallow flies high it is the sign of good weather.
When the wild geese fly to the river it is the sign of rain.
When the curlew flies around the house screeching it is the sign of bad weather. - There are a great many wild birds in this district namely: the crow, the jackdaw, the magpie, the sparrow, the robin, the blackbird, the plover, the curlew and the pigeon. There are also migratory birds which visit this district in summer. The migratory birds are the swallow, the cuckoo, and the corncrake. The(continues on next page)
