  1. Scotland the wild-geese can be seen hovering around Ireland. It is going to be a wet day if the hens go out, and if its going to be a showery day the hens stay in.
    When the cats have their tails to the fire it is the sign of bad weather. The dogs get under the tables when thunder is going on. The cattle gad around the fields in fine weather when the rain is coming. The midges would eat you when its going to rain and also the flying ants.
    When the smoke goes round the house its the sign of rain. When the frost is coming the smoke goes up straight.
