    Bird Lore.
    The wild birds around this district are the sparrow which builds its nest in ivy and in box-trees. She lays four or five eggs and the colour of them is light green with black dots.
    The woodquest builds in a tree. The nest is made of sticks. She lays two eggs and the colour of them is white.
    The robin builds its nest in a mossy place in a ditch or in an old tin can. She lays five eggs. The colour of them is white with brown dots. She takes about fifteen days to hatch them.
    The wren builds her nest of moss in a small tree or a bush. She sometimes lays up to twenty-four eggs, and the colour of them is brown.
    The boglark builds its nest in the ground. She lays four dark brown eggs.
    The black-bird builds its nest in a white-thorn bush. She lays about three pale green eggs.
    The thrush builds her nest in a bush or in a hedge. She lays three eggs of a blue colour with green specks.
    The starling builds its nest in the eaves of houses. It is also known as the black stone.
    The jay thrush builds in a tree or a wall. The nest is made of clay, leaves and grass.
