    Weather Lore.
    When a cat plays with a brush or a leg of a table it will rain.
    When the slates are a darkish colour it will rain.
    When you see the sky dark red there will be thunder.
    When the hills seem near there will be rain.
    If you see goats running to the sheltered side of a ditch it will rain.
    If you see sparks on the kettle it is a sign of rain.
    When smoke comes down the chimney there will be rain.
    If a dog eats grass there will be wet weather.
    When sheep are at the gate of a field it will rain.
    If a person stands with his back to the fire it will rain.
    When your feet are cold there will be snow.
    When a cat sits with its back to the fire it is a sign of wet weather.
    When the sky is bright red in the evening the next day will be fine.
    When a cock crows in wet weather it will get fine.
    When a person's corns pain him it is a sign of rain.
    When the swallows fly low there will be rain.
    When a dog gets a bone and hides it in grass it will rain.
    When there is a blue flame in the fire it is a sign of rain.
    They say that if the Slaney roars it is the sign of a storm.
    If the seagulls swim on the deep part of a river it is a sign that there is a storm coming on.
    If you hear wall-paper cracking on the wall it is the sign of bad weather.
