He is the gentleman who owned one of the tanneries in BallyCanew years ago.

Nail-making was carried on in Ballycanew up to about 45 years ago, in three houses and each employed a few hands. The nails were used locally. The last to give up this occupation was a man named Patchell whose grandson lived in Dublin up to a few years ago and was engaged as Turf Commission agent. I do not know if he still lives but if so he should be about 52 or 53. I do not know if any other descendant lives.
