Ar an leathanach seo

  1. In Blackwater Parish in St Bridgets Well situated in the townsland of Castle Talbot on Mrs O Donohoe's farm.
    It is said that long ago this well cured many people and people came from all parts for a cure.
    The sick person had to pay nine visits and drink water from the well on each visit.
    The well is surrounded by a wooden railing and a little gate leading to it. It was well kept by the old people but now it has gone wild
    There was a church situated near this well tis said and it was called St Bridgets. The remains of the church are still to be seen.
    The present church in Blackwater Church is called St Bridgets and Benediction is always given on that Feast day, 2nd February
    There is what is suppose to be a Holy Well in Pat Cash's farm Garryvadden.
    It is situated under the root of a Sally tree It is called St Mary's well.
    It was lined with stones by James Cullen
