  1. St Michael's well is situated at Cornick's Bower which is at the back of Cromwell's Fort. There is a big field at the back of the house and at one end there is an entrance to the Bower which is very hilly and full of big trees. At the very top is the well. Many people were cured there and there was a bush close to it full of white cloths. The people said it was very good for the eyes,
