  1. Whitemill got its name from a mill which was built with grey stone and when the sun shone on it appeared white.
    The Distillery Road got its name from a distillery which was on the road.
    Bishop's Water got its name from a distillery which was called Bishop's Water Distillery it was afterwards called Bishop's Water.
    Partridge Street was called King's Street because the first houses built in it were built by a family named King.
