    Signs of rain.
    Heavy dark clouds travel swiftly across the sky. Clouds hide away sun, moon, and stars.
    A circle around the moon.
    A rain-bow at morning.
    Stars pale and dull, in a murky sky.
    A south-westerly wind.
    Wind down and out.
    Slieve Coillte appears nearer.
    The neighbouring mountains are capped with a thick mist.
    The "Bannow-boys" (sea-gulls) in on the land.
    Swallows fly low.
    Cat sits with her back to the fire.
    Dogs get uneasy.
    Flies torment cattle (hore) and horses.
    Goats seek shelter.
    Ducks oil their feathers, and make them water-proof.
    Pea-cocks cry shrilly, and jump from place to place.
    Guinnea fowl cry and make loud noises.
    Silken threads woven from place to place.
    Crickets crying.
    Soot fall from chimneys.
