  1. Poteen Making
    About one hundred years ago there was a still where poteen was made in Mrs Cosgrove's field in Killasonna. The hollow can be seen yet where the oats was steeped, and there are also stones there where the still might have been. A short distance away there was a shop and a woman named Reilly lived there, and sold the poteen. This shop was in Pat Murphy's field. The still was seized by the yeomen when they were in Ireland. Heard from Miss Mary Mc Nally who heard it from her mother.
