  1. The names of some of the old schools that were around this district long ago were, E sker, E nnybegs, and C ullyfad.
    His Uncle William Hughes who lived in Rhyme, was one of the teachers in E sker school. He was head-teacher at the age of sixteen years.
    John Reilly who lived in C rieve was a teacher in C ullyfad school.
    There was an old hedge-shool at the oak wood which is in the townland of Glenoughill. The teacher of this school was called Mike Gerby. Only one
