  1. There is a slight rise on the road a short distance from Clonfide School Carrickedmond Co Longford, and it is known as Bardon's Hill, and there is a bush at the side of the hill, which is supposed to be planted by one of the Bardon's who resided there about eighty years ago.
    I was told that the parents of the Bardon's died, and the children later emigrated to America. Tom Carney who died about eight years ago aged about 80 years, often told a story of how the Bardon's told him to plant a bush at the remains of the house. He told it to the young children.
