  1. A man named Bill Carr brother of the man mentioned before carried five cwts of meal from Shrule mills to the canal banks. He crossed the fields and crossed Laragh until he came to the canal. He rested four times on the way. From Shrule to the canal was about a mile distance. He did it about 90 years ago.
