  1. There was once a woman who dreamed about a crock of gold under a bush in Knockdowney ( a hill near Moate, Co Westmeath). She dreamed three nights about it and also that there would be a life lost over it before she got the crock of gold.
    She went one night to dig for it and she brought a couple of people with her and began to dig for it. She kept digging until a little red man put up his head and sat on a stone. The treasure-seekers had a cat with them and when they saw the little red man they threw the cat at him. The man took the cat, and the man and the cat disappeared
