    In Ballyboran the district where I live it is said there was a ghost in Andrew Murphy's house.

    In Ballyboran the district where I live it is said there was a ghost in Andrew Murphy's house. This house is situated about twenty perches, from the main road between Creeve and Baylin. The ghost was known as Terry the black duck. He used to appear in the house the time the Jones lived in it. The Jones were very big landlords and they owned all the land between Baylin and Moate. The house in which he used to appear is a very old one.
    This ghost used to appear in the form of a dog. He was to be seen every night in one room. The Jones got afraid of the ghost and they got a priest to bless the room. The ghost did not leave the house. Then they got a very holy priest to take him out of the house. He took him out
