  1. One bright night four men were spearing eels in the lake. The men were William Finegan, Michael Cormack, Brian Cormack and Jim Naughton.
As they rowed along they saw a big wave coming across the lake towards their boat. When it drew near, Jim Naughton threw his spear at it and cut the wave in two halves. Soon after the men went home.
Later that night, when Jim Naughton was asleep in bed, an old witch came to his window and called him. He got up immediately. She asked him to come to the lake to take the spear out of her daughter's head. When Jim went out from the door he stepped on to a beautiful road, which led him to where the witche's daughter lay. He drew the spear out of her head and the witch then left him safely back at his own door again.
