    In Irish soil Iam. In English ground I stand, I rode the mare that never was foaled and carried the dam in my hand.
    Answer:- The mare died and the foal was taken out of her. The foal grew to be a great race horse and the owner ran him in England. He had his boots filled with Irish soil, and the thong of the whip (w) he carried was made from the hide of the racer's dam.
